Collins Avenue is the only continuous north-south road through the Village. It runs two lanes each way past the hotel and retail frontage, with signalized valet entries and no bypass. Westbound, 96th Street runs to the Shepard Broad Causeway, which is tolled and cashless. It carries a bascule bridge that opens for marine traffic, with no detour available. However, the alternative is south through Miami Beach to the Julia Tuttle, which is toll-free and longer, and in season is often worse.
Miami International is closer by mileage, roughly eighteen to twenty miles. But the route runs over the Broad Causeway toll, down I-95 and onto a tolled expressway into the terminal loop. In contrast, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood is a little farther at around twenty-one to twenty-four miles but frequently arrives faster because it avoids that entire knot. We will give you a straight recommendation for your specific departure time rather than defaulting to the shorter number.
As a result, since late February 2026, the 9700 Collins Avenue vehicle entrance to Bal Harbour Shops has been closed for the retail expansion, and it has not reopened. Vehicles use the 96th Street garage entrance or 9800 Collins instead. Valet now works three ways. It’s at the 96th Street garage, the Neiman Marcus entrance at 9800 Collins, and the south Collins gate by Saks. The Saks gate is drop-off only, with pickup back at Neiman Marcus.
A driver following a mapping app to 9700 Collins arrives at a closed gate. We do not. Tell us which store you are starting in and we will pick the entrance that puts you closest to it.
The St. Regis Bal Harbour on Collins and the Ritz-Carlton Bal Harbour at 10295 Collins are the two flagships. The Ritz-Carlton’s residential component is still widely marketed under its original One Bal Harbour name. The Sea View Hotel, open since 1948, is the long-standing independent, and Beach Haus sits on the Intracoastal side.
All of them handle arrivals through private motor courts rather than curb standing on Collins. That makes them straightforward to work with once you know the ramp.
Because so much of the Village is walkable in three minutes, trips inside Bal Harbour are absurdly short. The right product is a retained vehicle on an hourly basis, staged where we're permitted, coming to you on a call — that's how the Village actually works.
Shopping days generate logistics: bags arrive in waves, some go back to the hotel mid-afternoon, some are fragile. Our chauffeurs take them at the door, keep them organised in the vehicle, and run them back to your property between stops.
For private arrivals, Opa-locka Executive is fourteen to sixteen miles away and is comfortably the closest business-jet field, typically twenty-five to thirty-five minutes via the Broad Causeway and I-95. Give us the FBO and we'll be at the aircraft.
Bal Harbour has no convention centre and no festival of its own. What it has is guests who stay here and go elsewhere. Art Basel Miami Beach in early December fills the resorts. It produces a steady loop between the Village, the convention centre and the satellite fairs. That loop runs roughly twenty-five to forty minutes each way in Art Week traffic. The Boat Show in February works the same way, spread across the convention centre and the yacht displays on Collins.
For those weeks we strongly suggest a retained vehicle. Trying to book individual transfers during Art Week is how people end up standing on Collins at midnight.

The permanent population here is tiny and the median age is in the fifties. However, the seasonal multiplier is large. From December through April the Village fills, and so does its calendar of quiet, private, recurring work. This includes standing appointment runs, dinners in Miami Beach, and day trips to Aventura and Sunny Isles. It also includes airport transfers at the start and end of a stay.
Boundaries here are unusually tight, and getting them wrong sends a car to the wrong city. Bal Harbour ends at 96th Street. South of that line is Surfside, which is where the Four Seasons at The Surf Club sits. The Shul of Bal Harbour is also physically located there, despite its name. Similarly, north across Haulover is Sunny Isles Beach, home to Acqualina, Turnberry Ocean Club and the Porsche Design Tower. West across the causeway is Bay Harbor Islands. We serve all of these places; we just want to be at the right address, and the spelling is Harbour with a u.
