There is one road in and out of Hillsboro Beach. State Road A1A runs the full length of the town, officially designated Hillsboro Mile, along a peninsula about three miles long and roughly nine hundred feet across at its widest.
However, you cannot reach it by car without crossing a drawbridge. Whichever end you come from, a bascule bridge stands between you and the address. That is the single most important thing about scheduling a car here, and almost nobody plans for it.

DJT is genuinely closer than Miami from here, and for many departures it is therefore the better choice. This far north in Broward that is a real decision rather than a formality.
Hillsboro Inlet Light stands at the southern end of the town, on the north side of the inlet. First lit in 1907 and automated in 1974, it remains an active aid to navigation. Although it is often misattributed to Pompano Beach or Lighthouse Point, it actually sits in Hillsboro Beach.
You cannot drive to it. Water surrounds it on three sides and a private club occupies the fourth. Public access is by boat tour only, run by the Hillsboro Lighthouse Preservation Society, and the tours require society membership. As a result, the boats leave from the Pompano Beach side of the inlet, which is where we would take you.

The Hillsboro Club at the southern end is private and by invitation. It has guest rooms but it is not bookable lodging, and describing it as a hotel would be wrong.
No commerce means no restaurants in town. Dinner is in Deerfield Beach, Lighthouse Point or Boca Raton, and being driven there and back is not an indulgence, it is simply how evenings work on Hillsboro Mile.
