The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show is not held at one place. It is held at seven, spread along several miles of waterfront, and the difference between a good day and a wasted one is usually the route rather than the ticket.
The 2026 show runs Wednesday 28 October through Sunday 1 November. Wednesday is Preview Day, noon to seven, on a premium ticket. Thursday through Saturday run ten to seven, and Sunday closes early at five.

Seven Sites, Not One
Bahia Mar Yachting Center on Seabreeze Boulevard is the main show and the one everybody names. It is not the whole show. The Broward County Convention Center on Eisenhower Boulevard, Hall of Fame Marina, Las Olas Marina, Pier Sixty-Six Marina and the Superyacht Village at Pier Sixty-Six South all carry exhibits, and the superyacht side of the show is a genuinely different visit from the main tents.
Three million square feet of exhibit space is spread across those locations. If your reason for coming is a specific broker, a specific yard or a specific boat, tell us which and we will take you to the right water rather than the famous one.
Preview Day Is the Day Worth Planning
Wednesday 28 October runs noon to seven on a premium ticket, and it is a shorter, quieter, more serious day than the weekend. Brokers have time. Boats are not three deep with visitors. Deals get discussed rather than gestured at.
It is also the day where arriving properly matters most, because the people you are meeting will notice. For Preview Day we recommend a retained vehicle for the afternoon rather than two separate transfers, so the car is at the dock when the conversation runs long.
The Convention Center Is the Official Hub
The show’s own transportation plan is built around the Broward County Convention Center. It holds more than three thousand spaces at a flat twenty dollars a day, and it is the origin point for the complimentary shuttle network that connects the sites.
The shuttles run on coloured routes: purple between the Convention Center and Bahia Mar, green between the Convention Center, the Superyacht Village and Bahia Mar, blue from the West Marine Center to Bahia Mar, and red between the Brightline station and the Riverside Hotel. Golf carts run between sites during show hours. Water taxis serve the waterfront locations on a separate ticket.
That system works. What it costs you is time, and on Preview Day or a broker appointment, time is the whole point.
Why We Do Not Simply Park at Bahia Mar
Seabreeze Boulevard and the approach to Bahia Mar is the single tightest piece of road in Fort Lauderdale during show week. A1A carries beach traffic, show traffic and the ordinary life of a barrier island through the same two lanes.
Our practice is to drop at the site you actually need, then stage off the corridor rather than idle in it, and come back on a call. It is the same approach we use at the private clubs on Palm Beach and for the same reason: a large vehicle parked in a constrained forecourt is a problem for everyone behind it.
The 2026 Road Closures Are Not Published Yet
The City of Fort Lauderdale issues a traffic and road-closure advisory for the show every year, typically covering A1A, Seabreeze and Las Olas. As of late August the 2026 edition has not been posted.
We would rather say that plainly than publish last year’s map and let you plan around it. We watch for it from early October and we build the actual restrictions into pickup times once they exist. If you have booked with us, you do not need to track it yourself.
Groups, Brokers and the Sprinter Argument
A party of six arriving in two cars arrives twice, from two directions, at two different moments. On a day with this much walking and this much shuttle-hopping, that is the difference between a coordinated visit and a series of phone calls.
The executive Sprinter is the right vehicle for this show. It carries the group, the coats, the bags and the paperwork, it holds while you are inside, and it puts everybody back in one place at the end. For brokerages running clients through multiple sites in a day, a retained Sprinter with a driver who knows the shuttle map is worth more than the fare difference.
Ed Sheeran Is on the Thursday and Friday
Worth knowing if you are booking late: Ed Sheeran plays Hard Rock Live at Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood on 29 and 30 October, which lands exactly on the show’s peak Thursday and Friday.
That pulls cars across Broward on the two busiest boat-show evenings. It also means a client who wants dinner and a show after a day at the docks can have both, if the vehicle is already held. We plan for the collision rather than discover it.
Airport Transfers During Show Week
Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International is close to the Convention Center, which is convenient and also means the airport corridor absorbs show traffic. Miami International and DJT, formerly Palm Beach International, both feed clients into this week as well.
For an arrival on the Tuesday or Wednesday we recommend building extra time rather than trusting a normal-week estimate. For departures on the Sunday, the show closes at five and the airport gets busy immediately afterwards. We schedule backwards from the flight and we say so at booking.
Who Runs the Show, and Why That Matters
The show is owned by the Marine Industries Association of South Florida and produced by Informa Markets. It is frequently still attributed to its former producer, which is a small thing, but it is a reliable indicator of whether the operator you are reading has looked at this year’s show or last decade’s.
Exhibitor and VIP arrangements come from the producer, not from the venues, and they change year to year. If your visit is on an exhibitor credential or a hosted programme, tell us and we will work to that schedule rather than the public one.
Evenings Are Their Own Business
The show closes at seven, and Las Olas Boulevard, the hotel bars along the beach and the private events on the water fill immediately afterwards. A driver who has held the car since the afternoon has already solved the hardest part of that evening.
Retained hourly service is the product that fits this week, and we say so rather than quoting a series of one-way transfers that will cost more and work less well.
Which Vehicle for the Docks
For a couple or a pair of brokers, the Escalade is the right call: it moves easily between the seven sites and parks where a larger vehicle cannot. For a client group, a hosted programme or anyone carrying literature and samples between the Convention Center and Bahia Mar, take the Sprinter.
